Cross Country Education is seeking a skilled Special Education Teacher with expertise in behavior management and Assistive Technology to join our team for the '25–'26 school year!
 
Position Overview:

  • Develop and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a self-contained Autism caseload of 12 students (Grades 4-9), ensuring regulatory compliance and leading all annual family meetings and quarterly progress reports.
  • Deliver specialized academic instruction and implement protocols for Assistive Technology (AT) to address students' limited language skills, including creating and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for students with significant behavioral needs
  • Provide strong classroom management and implement evidence-based behavior strategies to address significant behaviors, including directing 2-3 classroom aides for support.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree
  • Valid North Carolina Teaching Certification with an Exceptional Children Endorsement (Required)
  • Prior experience teaching and leading an Autism classroom or similar self-contained setting (Grades 4-9), including proficiency with Assistive Technology (AT) implementation
