Position Overview:

  • Provide specialized instructional and consultative services as mandated by each student's IEP, managing a multi-site itinerant caseload of approximately 20-30 students across 10-15 schools (PreK–12).
  • Deliver direct instruction focused on language, auditory skills, speech-reading, and self-advocacy skills to mitigate the educational impact of hearing loss across diverse learning environments.
  • Provide consultation and training to parents and school staff regarding effective accommodations, modification of curriculum, and the daily troubleshooting and maintenance of student-specific hearing assistive technology (e.g., hearing aids, cochlear implants, FM systems).

Qualifications:

  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Endorsement
  • Experience in an itinerant teaching capacity across multiple school levels and settings (K-12 preferred)
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel daily between school sites across the Northwest Suburban Chicago area
