Position Overview:

  • Deliver specialized instruction utilizing research-based teaching techniques that address the diverse needs, interests, and abilities of K-12 students with visual impairments.
  • Adapt the curriculum and modify instructional materials to meet the specific learning requirements outlined in students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate daily with support personnel, teachers, and parents to foster strong relationships and promote overall student progress.

Qualifications:

  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with the Teacher of Students Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired Endorsement
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current teaching techniques and best practices for students with visual impairments
  • Proven ability to effectively write, implement, and manage Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs)
