Ready to transform the middle school experience in Ledyard, CT? Cross Country Education is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to lead a Life Skills (RISE) program within a supportive middle school environment. This is a vital leave-of-absence coverage role making a lasting impact on 6th–8th grade learners for the remainder of the 2025-2026 academic year!
 
Position Overview:

  • Direct a specialized Life Skills program where students receive core instruction and participate in inclusive electives/content classes in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).
  • Design and deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual IEP goals while overseeing a team of supportive paraprofessionals.
  • Manage the full IEP process, including annual reviews, 3-year evaluations, progress monitoring, and active participation in PPT meetings.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Valid Connecticut Certification 165 (Required)
  • Proficiency in IEP Direct and systematic data collection (Required)
  • Experience with behavior support programs and secondary life skills instruction (Preferred)
