Cross Country Education is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to make a real impact in a supportive school environment in Killingly, CT. Join our team as Special Education Teacher to help students with diverse learning needs thrive for the '25-'26 school year!
Position Overview:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students across diverse settings, with available roles in a Grade 4 Resource caseload, a Grade 2 Autism classroom, and a Grade 9-12 Clinical Social Emotional Program.
- Provide explicit, small-group instruction in academic areas and implement evidence-based behavioral and social-emotional interventions tailored to meet the unique needs of students across the Autism and Clinical Social Emotional programs.
- Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and parents to ensure consistent support, fidelity of program implementation, and successful student progress.
- Apply crisis prevention and de-escalation strategies and lead the implementation of behavior intervention plans (BIPs) within the specialized emotional support settings to promote a positive and safe learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree
- Valid Connecticut Special Education Certification with either a 165 or 065 Endorsement (Required)
- Prior experience effectively teaching and managing students with diverse needs, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder or significant social-emotional/behavioral challenges
