Position Overview: 

  • The Special Education Teacher provides support and monitors the progress of the academic, social, behavioral, and emotional growth of students across grades 6-12.
  • Conduct formal and informal assessments to determine student eligibility for services, track progress toward IEP goals, and inform data-driven instructional decisions.
  • Partner with general education teachers to design and deliver differentiated instruction strategies to foster engagement in classroom activities.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • New York State Certification in Special Education 
  • 3 years of prior experience with Special Education 
  • Experience teaching secondary math, with a track record of adapting curriculum to support students with diverse learning needs (Preferred)
