Cross Country Education is searching for a highly dedicated, certified School Social Worker to step into a pivotal Long-Term Substitute role at the high school level in Norwalk, CT. Position Overview:
- Provide advanced clinical interventions (individual/group counseling) to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of the high school population (Grades 9-12).
- Manage a complex caseload, successfully providing crisis intervention, immediate student support, and facilitating appropriate referrals to community mental health resources.
- Lead preventative measures through the implementation of school-wide psychoeducational programs covering areas like stress reduction, anti-bullying initiatives, and suicide prevention protocols.
- Serve as a core consultant in Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings, utilizing social, emotional, and behavioral data to guide staff and family collaboration on student success planning.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) (Required)
- Valid Connecticut School Social Worker Certification with a 071 Endorsement (Required)
- Successful completion of all required background checks and clearances (e.g., CT State and Federal fingerprinting)
- Prior experience providing social work services, counseling, or mental health support in a high school or comparable clinical setting (Preferred)
