Position Overview:

  • Provide 1-on-1 and small-group academic assistance to high school students in the mild-to-moderate range to support credit recovery and graduation.
  • Assist students navigating barriers like poverty, housing insecurity, and educational gaps as a trauma-informed role model for high-risk youth.
  • Partner with lead teachers to implement re-engagement strategies for students with histories of chronic truancy to encourage daily participation.
  • Apply flexible de-escalation and behavior management techniques to support students transitioning back into a structured school environment.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Valid Illinois PEL with Paraprofessional Endorsement OR a Substitute License
  • Proven ability to remain patient and solution-oriented in a non-traditional, high-need charter school setting
