Position Overview:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to K-12 students with visual impairments.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to foster academic and functional independence.
- Instruct students in the use of assistive technology, including braille, screen readers, and low vision aids.
Qualifications:
- IL Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Teacher of Students Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired endorsement
- Proficiency in teaching compensatory skills, including Braille and assistive technology
- In-depth knowledge of current best practices for students with visual impairments.
