Cross Country Education is seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher (Cognitive Impairment) to create meaningful learning experiences that empower high school students to reach their full potential during the 2026–2027 school year in Dearborn, MI.

Position Overview 

  • Provide specialized instruction and individualized educational support for a small caseload of high school students with cognitive impairments.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), tracking student progress and adjusting instruction as needed.
  • Collaborate with educators, related service providers, and families to support students' academic, social, and functional growth.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages independence and student success.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field required; Master's degree preferred
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with a K–12 Special Education endorsement
  • Cognitive Impairment (CI) endorsement required
  • Experience developing IEPs and implementing evidence-based instructional practices preferred
