Join Cross Country Education as a School Social Worker in Reading, PA, and collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to help elementary students navigate behavioral, emotional, and social challenges throughout the 2026–2027 school year.

Position Overview

  • Deliver counseling, social-emotional support, and behavioral interventions to elementary students in grades 3–5 with a range of behavioral, emotional, social, and mental health needs.
  • Provide crisis support, behavior intervention, and case management services to promote student well-being and success.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, families, and outside service providers to coordinate individualized student support.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and communicate student needs, progress, and support strategies with relevant team members.

Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or related qualifying field
  • Valid Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Certification in School Social Work, School Counseling, or as a School-Based Licensed Professional Counselor
  • Experience supporting elementary students in grades 3–5, particularly those with behavioral, emotional, social, and/or mental health needs; experience in a structured intervention program preferred
