Position Overview:

  • Design and facilitate engaging, culturally responsive lessons for Grades 9-12, covering both General History and specialized African Studies.
  • Monitor student progress through regular grading and real-time feedback, proactively adjusting instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
  • Independently manage classroom dynamics and curriculum planning, fostering an energetic atmosphere that encourages critical thinking and active participation.
  • Engage in daily team huddles and departmental meetings to align on curriculum goals, share student data, and contribute to a unified school culture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
  • Valid New York State Teaching Certification (Preferred)
    • Non-certified Candidates: Must have a minimum of 12 credits in the relevant subject area and provide a copy of your transcript
  • 1–2 years of experience teaching History or African Studies
