Cross Country Education is seeking a caring and dedicated Long-Term Substitute Head Start Teacher in Chester, PA to lead a preschool classroom and provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment throughout the 2026–2027 school year.

Position Overview

• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction and activities for preschool-aged children in a Head Start classroom.
• Lead daily classroom instruction, routines, and learning experiences while maintaining a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
• Maintain accurate student records, documentation, and progress data.
• Partner with families through meetings, conferences, and ongoing communication regarding student development.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field
• Valid Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Certification for Pre-K–Grade 4 or equivalent early childhood certification
• Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification, along with experience working with preschool-aged children; Head Start or early childhood classroom experience preferred
• Ability to complete required background checks and training
