Position Overview

• Provide direct support to Special Education students under the direction of the Director of Student Services, Coordinator of Student Services, Principal, Teacher, Education Specialist, and/or Full Inclusion Coach.
• Implement behavioral and instructional methodologies to address the needs of students demonstrating learning or behavioral challenges.
• Work with students with different abilities (mild to extensive needs) within the General education classroom.
• Support the academic and behavioral needs of students.
• Accommodate specific student needs through the implementation of specialized learning activities and linguistically appropriate goals and objectives.
• Provide instructional support and interventions during and after school in a variety of settings, including the general education classrooms and other school settings as assigned.

Qualifications 

• One of the following: REQUIRED-
  • AA and High School Diploma or GED
  • Or Pass on the ParaPro exam
• Experience as a SPED Para
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures with the field.
