Join a powerful movement in Chicago education! Cross Country Education is looking for dedicated Special Education Teachers (LBS1) for 8 openings in Chicago, IL for the 2026–2027 school year. Help high school students overcome barriers, close learning gaps, and find their path to graduation.
 
Position Overview: 

  • Deliver specialized instruction for high school students with mild-to-moderate disabilities.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that reflect the unique social, emotional, and academic barriers faced by students returning to an educational setting.
  • Proactively reach out to and support students facing barriers, using behavior management and crisis intervention strategies to support student success.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to build flexible, student-centered learning environments.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred)
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement for high school
  • Prior experience supporting high-risk or at-promise youth (Preferred)
  • Strong behavior management and crisis intervention skills with a high degree of adaptability
