Cross Country Education is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to make a real impact in a supportive school environment in Killingly, CT. Join our team as Special Education Teacher to help students with diverse learning needs thrive for the '25-'26 school year!
Position Overview:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) across diverse settings, with available roles including:
- Grade 4 Resource: Managing a foundational academic caseload.
- Grade 2 Autism: Leading a specialized, self-contained classroom.
- Grades 9-12 Clinical: Supporting a Social-Emotional program for high school students.
- Deliver explicit, small-group instruction and implement evidence-based behavioral interventions tailored to meet the unique needs of students in specialized programs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to ensure program fidelity and successful student progress.
- Apply crisis prevention and lead the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) to promote a safe and positive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree
- Valid Connecticut Special Education Certification with either a 165 or 065 Endorsement (Required)
- Prior experience effectively teaching and managing students with diverse needs, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder or significant social-emotional/behavioral challenges
