Join a powerful movement in Chicago education! Cross Country Education is looking for 8 dedicated LBS1 Special Education Teachers to help high school students overcome barriers, close learning gaps, and find their path to graduation during the 2026–2027 school year in Chicago, IL.
 
Position Overview: 

  • Deliver specialized instruction for high school students with mild-to-moderate disabilities.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address each student's academic, social, and emotional needs.
  • Build meaningful relationships with students facing barriers while using behavior management and crisis intervention strategies to promote student success.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to build flexible, student-centered learning environments.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred)
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement for high school
  • Experience supporting high-risk or opportunity youth preferred
  • Strong behavior management and crisis intervention skills with a high degree of adaptability
